Cindy Abrams

State Representative Cindy Abrams is serving her second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. She represents the 29th Ohio House District, which encompasses western Hamilton County. Abrams currently serves as the Chairwoman of the House Criminal Justice Committee. 

Abrams is proud of her long record of public service, as she previously served as a Police Officer for the City of Cincinnati and as City Councilwoman for the City of Harrison before being appointed to the 29th district seat in 2019.

Abrams has worked tirelessly to invest in public safety and combat the opioid epidemic. She knows our families deserve safer communities. She also balanced the budget while securing record tax cuts, so hardworking Ohioans can keep more of their hard-earned money in their pockets.

Abrams received the Legislator of the Year award from the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police in 2022, the Legislator of the Year award from the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association in 2023, and received the 2023 John E. Murphy Guardian of Justice Award from the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University and is a graduate of the Public Leadership Academy of The Ohio State University. Abrams is very involved in her community. She served on the boards of the Hamilton County Emergency Management & Homeland Security Agency, Hamilton County Municipal League, and SHELeads. Active in the Hamilton County Republican Party, Abrams serves on the Hamilton County Judicial Screening Committee. Additionally, she established the Harrison Junior City Council Program.

She has been married to her husband for over 20 years, and they reside in Harrison with their two sons.
